INAFI Bangladesh is going to implement a project titled ‘‘Institutional
Support for Productive Utilisation of Migrant Workers Remittances’
through its 5 partner NGOs/MFIs. The project is supported by Remittances
and Payment Challenge Fund-RPCF (a joint project named Remittance
and Payment Partnership-RPP of DFID and Bangladesh Bank). Initially
the project will be implemented for 15 months, but it may be extended.
INAFI Bangladesh is the lead agency, which will facilitate for smooth
implementation of Remittance Project. INAFI Bangladesh is looking
for 2 Technical Officers (TO) for the project. The TO will be appointed
initially for 15 Months on contract, but the contract may be extended
upon the extension of project as well as performance of TO.
Description
of the position:
Technical
Officer (TO) is a mid-level management position. TO will reportable
to the Project Manager (PM). TO will lead a team consisting of 4
/ 5 Enterprise Development Officer (EDO) based at office of NGOs/MFIs.
TO will provide technical knowledge, extending support, and help
EDO to achieve client outreach of migrants’ families and returnee
migrants, facilitate different trainings related to enterprise development
and link enterprises with mainstream financial institutions. The
position requires a leadership quality, hard-working, and intellectual
capabilities to guide the EDO.
Major Tasks/Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of TOs are as below:

Ensure
implementation of project at partner MFIs level |
* |
Ensure
the coordination and the dissemination of information among
the partner MFIs and keep close contact with them |
* |
Collect
training materials from different sources and fine-tuned it
according to target clients need and demand |
* |
Offer Training
of Trainers(TOT) course among the staffs of partner MFIs |
* |
Facilitate
training course at field level with the help of partner MFIs
|
* |
Onsite
and offsite monitoring of the project |
* |
Liaise
with different stakeholders for linkage activities like backward
and forward linkage, and linkage with mainstream financial institutions
|
* |
Collect
and maintain a database of market information |
* |
Providing
operational and technical support to partners who need it, help
them to identify solutions to overcome difficulties |
* |
Prepare
and submit activity and financial report of the project |
* |
Any other
tasks and responsibilities provided by PM and INAFI management
|
Competencies
and Skills Required:
* |
The
candidate requires good leadership quality, motivational skill,
management capacity, analytical ability and preferably experience
in Microfinance / Microenterprise / Small and Medium Enterprise
(SME) Development. |
* |
Enterprise
development skills, financial management, business plan preparation
and preparation work plan is essential |
* |
Preferably
1-2 years work experience in Microfinance / Microenterprise
/ Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) Development / banking |
* |
Fluent
in English and Bengali both in writing and speaking |
* |
Strong
interpersonal communication skills |
* |
Experience
on monitoring and supervision is desirable |
* |
Hard working
and willingness to pay extensive field visit will be considered
as strong point. |
* |
Computer
skills especially on MS Word, Excel, Power point and internet/E-mail
etc. |
* |
The age
limit for the position is 32 years. |
Academic Qualification:
At least BBA / MBA or Masters Degree preferably in Finance/ Economics
/ Management / other relevant discipline of Social Science
